St. Mary’s School Professional Staff St. Mary’s School is blessed and privileged to have a very dedicated staff of men and women who go beyond the call of duty to help the students achieve their greatest academic potential. Mrs. Megan Brickner mbrickner@ls.noacsc.org Mrs. Brickner has the great pleasure of introducing the letters of the alphabet and numbers to her kindergarten students. They have a lot of fun. You can tell they love school. What a great way to begin their elementary school years. Mrs. Denise Lauf dlauf@ls.noacsc.org Mrs. Lauf spends her days helping the children of Grade One read, write and calculate. It is a joy to walk down the hallways and read the stories her students write. They are eager to learn and share. Mrs. Cynthia Ricker cricker@ls.noacsc.org Grade 2 is an exciting room to be in with Mrs. Ricker. She will be continuing the basic reading, writing, and calculating skills of Grade 1. She will also be preparing her students for the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation. Mrs. Mary Schroeder mschroeder@ls.noacsc.org Grade 3 will be in a self-contained classroom this year and will have the privilege of having Mrs. Schroeder as their teacher. This is a big “step” year between Grade 2 and Grade 4. It is a year of “growth spurts” in both Reading and in Math. Miss Connie Niese cniese@ls.noacsc.org Miss Niese will be teaching Math to Grades 4-8 this year. It is so encouraging to see the students get excited about numbers. They amaze themselves! Miss Niese also teaches Reading and Social Studies to Grade 4 and Health and Art to Grade 7. Mrs. Sarah Pester spester@ls.noacsc.org Mrs. Pester is our eighth grade homeroom teacher. She will be teaching Language Arts to the students in Grades 4-8; Social Studies in Grade 8; Reading in Grades 5-8; and Health and Art to Grade 4. We await great writing from our students this year. Mrs. Deborah Barney dbarney@ls.noacsc.org Grade 5 & 6 will be in Mrs. Barney’s homeroom. Mrs. Barney teaches Reading and Language Arts to Grades 5 - 8 and Social Studies to Grades 5, 6, & 7. She also teaches Religion to Grades 5 & 6 and Health and Art to Grades 3, 5 and 6. Mrs. Laura Schroeder lschroeder@ls.noacsc.org Mrs. Schroeder is our seventh grade homeroom teacher. She teaches Science to the students in Grades 4 – 7. Experimenting is the name of the game on most days in her classes. There is definitely a “hands on” approach. She also teaches Religion to Grades 4, 7 and 8 and Health and Art to Grades 5, 6 and 8. Mr. Scott Knueven sknueven@ls.noacsc.org Students in Grades K – 8 are privileged to have a licensed musician for their instructor. We are blessed to have Mr. Knueven lead us in song and accompaniment for our Wednesday allschool Masses. This year he also is teaching keyboarding and public speaking to Grades K-8. Scott is a graduate of St. Mary’s School! Mr. Chris Ireland Theirelandfamily@att.net Mr. Ireland teaches Physical Education to our students in Grades K – 8 on Mondays and Tuesdays. He also monitors the playground and lunch hour activities on Mondays and Tuesdays. Mr. Ireland is often one of our faithful substitute teachers. Mrs. Deb Ellerbrock dellerbrock@ls.noacsc.org Deb works at St. Mary’s School as our Auxiliary Services Program clerk. She does a great job of keeping all our book orders in order. We treasure her presence in our midst. Mrs. Andrea Maidlow lp_maidlow@lp.noacsc.org Andrea is a graduate of St. Mary’s School and is coming back this year as an Intervention Specialist. She will be helping our students for about ninety minutes each day. Sister Mary PaulenA! pwilliams@ls.noacsc.org We are very fortunate to have Sister Mary Paulena on our school staff this year. Sister is very adept at helping the primary teachers with students who need educational assistance. She works very closely with Mrs. Maidlow. Sister also assists in the primary classrooms periodically. Mrs. Nancy Brinkman nbrinkman@ls.noacsc.org Everyone loves to come to the office for that special TLC touch they receive from our school secretary. Mrs. Brinkman keeps us all on our toes and makes sure the school is running smoothly each day. Students love to come to the office for that special peppermint treat.
